ALPS rod lathes (also known as ALPS power wrappers) have a reputation for being well designed, functional and durable. If you are looking to make your rod building projects more efficient then lathes are an essential part of your set up. The ALPS rod lathe is powerful enough to shape cork and EVA, bind guides onto the blank and apply epoxy. Most serious rod builders opt for the ALPS rod lathe and also upgrade the chuck to the "precision head chuck", this chuck can be viewed under the "Rod wrapping accessories and spares" section. The precision chuck gives greater control and a firmer clamp onto the object on the lathe, particularly useful if turning cork and EVA. The rod lathe has a second "mode" which is a drying mode for a slow tun during the epoxy drying stage.

The ALPS drier machines are essential for rod builders that either don't have a rod lathe or that want to apply epoxy to more than one rod at a time. The handy drying machines are a two piece set up (drying motor with chuck and a rod stand) which can be set up in any open space when needed and then put away into a cupboard when not in use.
